The “Pear” Theme
On your mark…get set…GO! Just another short month (or two) away from your Christmas themed or holiday wedding? Well, more than likely you’ve got it all sorted out. However, here are a few little added touches you can incorporate into your venue to create a Winter Wonderland for your special day.
By DORI JEAVONS
I attended a wedding several years ago, and the couple worked around a “pear” theme. This was ranging from pear martinis, pears in their centerpieces and a lovely pear dessert. It’s Christmastime, the sky is the limit here! Create a signature cocktail that not only represents you as a couple, but also adds some flair and color to your beautiful day. Perhaps the Candy Cane Cocktail, or the Chocolate Peppermint Stick? If presented well, these drinks will leave a lasting impression with all of your guests, unless they’ve had too many, that is. This is the time of year when people love to indulge (then set up unrealistic New Year’s resolutions…but that’s another day, another blog), so use this to your advantage. Have a candy table set up with various delicacies of the season; gingerbread cookies, candy canes, you are limitless when it comes to Christmas cookies. You can save money and make these yourself or even have your bridesmaids pitch in and pick a favorite recipe. Make it into a girl’s night of baking and fun, and use this time to go through any last minute details with them.
Odds are you’ve already sorted out your centerpieces, but by adding some in season fruit and greenery, you can add some beauty and aromatic flare. Perhaps some pomegranates, clementines and pine on your guest’s tables to create a holiday feel?
These are just a few quick tips and ideas; I hope I was able to help in some way. If I was, you can make all cheques payable to…JUST KIDDING! Congratulations and have a wonderful Wedding Day!!
Spring brides, I’ll be hitting you up next in the New Year…stay tuned!!
